Enterprise Mobile Solutions – Igloo Software Reveals New SaaS Platform for Mobile Workers
Daniel Brecht, contributing writer for Enterprise Mobile Solutions covers Igloo’s latest product release, Scone.
Igloo Software, a cloud intranet provider that runs a full service agency to provide an intranet solution that is both mobile and social, says it has an apt solution for those planning a new intranet or looking for a better way to collaborate and share files with employees, partners and customers, whatever the size of the business.
The company is not just another traditional enterprise software provider with a Web-based platform for collaborating at work and optimizing the flow of information between mobile workers. It also delivers social business solutions securely with its hosted cloud platform.
The last update to Igloo’s cloud intranet platform happened a few months ago (in April) when its first intranet platform was unveiled. Rockland, with responsive design, was made available for both new customers and as an add-on for existing customers.
This week, Igloo Software announced the next version of its Software as a Service platform – dubbed Scone. Users are assured it can provide an intranet they will actually like; one that is easy to use and even easier to customize.
Moreover, it is sure to be more appealing to consumers and valuable to companies. The provider is able to meet mobile intranet users’ needs and even extend Igloo outside the company, for use with either customers or business partners. Igloo promises to bring richer experiences for companies’ business infrastructure, practices and culture to support BYOD.
Igloo Software has become a recognized mobile SaaS apps provider for Android and iOS devices, offering a cloud solution to gain access to software and its functions remotely as a Web-based service. The SaaS infrastructure is what provides the “on-demand software” for those that rely heavily on virtualization as a platform for sharing resources (e.g., documents and files) over the Internet.
Scone was created to give users and companies alike an optimal mobile experience for their businesses to improve productivity, virtually anywhere. It features a new document preview engine, one that is able to support more file formats (including PDF), most audio and a wide selection of video formats (including avi, mkv, mov, mp4 and wmv) as well as image types on any device with a Web browser.
Igloo’s document preview is said to be also displayed in-line with Igloo’s built-in collaboration features and responsive design. In addition, it now has a platform that supports HTML5 playback.
According to Andrew Dixon, Igloo’s Senior Vice President, Marketing & Operations, Scone acknowledges the needs of today’s workforce as the concept of where work gets done is changing.
Scone will be made available as a free update-instantly available for all Igloo customers starting Aug. 31-to enrich mobile access and collaboration, as well as is capable of providing real-time sorting and filtering capabilities through a new social analytics dashboard.
Those interested in the newest cloud intranet platform can download the Scone app by searching “Igloo Mobile” on Google Play or Apple’s App Store.
